How We Can Help

MCCS offers a growing number of programs to benefit Monroe County, Missouri cancer patients and their families, including:

  • Financial Assistance
  • Service Assistance
Service Assistance which may include, but is not limited to, transportation for treatment or cancer related health care, light housework or yard work, minor home maintenance or repair. Service assistance is provided strictly by volunteers and is subject availability of able people.
  • Nutritional Supplements including Boost, Ensure, and Glucerna
Sometimes cancers or cancer treatments cause side effects that make maintaining essential, proper nutrition difficult. Difficulty swallowing, loss of appetite, nausea and other effects may interfere with ingestion or absorption of nutrients.
Currently the MCCS has a supply of donated supplemental nutrition products—Boost, Ensure, Glucerna, etc.—available. If you or someone you know is undergoing treatment or is dealing with cancer in any way supplemental nutrition may be needed. A health care provider’s order is not required for eligibility, just the  need. This assistance may be made in addition to other forms of assistance through MCCS. For more information contact Program Coordinator Melinda James at 573-473-2589.
  • Wigs and Turbans

All of the resources collected or coordinated by this group stay in Monroe County, Missouri. The only requirement for receiving help from MCCS is that the recipient be a Monroe County, Missouri resident diagnosed with cancer.
