Helping People
Helping people is possible ONLY if we are aware of the need, so we rely on others to inform us of someone having cancer. We hope to ease the burden, show that the community cares, and raise awareness. Names of people receiving aid are kept confidential.
How to Help
Monetary donations are always welcome and appreciated, but there are many other ways you can contribute as well!
If you:
- know of someone with cancer in need of assistance,
- would like to make a donation,
- want more information,
- would like for a member of Monroe County Cancer Supporters to speak to a club, group, or church:

MCCS is always looking for more volunteers to help with:
- Service projects for Cancer patients requesting support
- Blow Cancer Away Fundraiser
- Hoops for Hope Basketball game
- Survivor Luncheon
Other Ways you can get involved with MCCS:
- MCCS participates in the Monroe County Relay for Life with a Fish Fry
- MCCS helps Mark Twain Old Threshers with various volunteer duties
- We assist Eastern Missouri Crappie Club with Catch Crappie for the Cure Jack & Jill Tournament
- Decorate storefront business windows for awareness and hope during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October
- Participates in Susan G Komen Mid-Missouri Race for the Cure on the Barking Butterfly Bakery team representing Monroe County
- Participate in local parades to spread awareness in various regions
